Independence

The Missing Piece was just like a child who always relied on others' helps. It didn't think what it could do, and it even didn't try to think. It only stayed and waited, like my little 3-year old cousin. When my cousin fell to the ground, he would sit on the floor, and cried to attract others’ attention.

I think maybe a part of the results was it lacked of confidence. So it wanted to be flashy to attract others' attention. Since someone told it that it could roll without others' assists, it began to believe its own power, and then it really did it. I think it is kinds of independence, and it also means that Missing Piece grew up and became confident

Story Reading: On the Line

A telephone company got an emergency call from Mrs. Washington, telling that her little girl swallowed the pills. The supervisor called the hospital and the police, but they both replied that only talked to the patient involved directly, or they couldn't send any ambulance. The supervisor tried other ways to help the helpless woman but all of those manners didn't work. She even pictured a child lying in pain, she's getting nervously. Finally she dialed the woman's three neighbors; the first one didn't answer, the second one refused, only the third person answered her “yes”, and went to Mrs. Washington's house to see what the happening is.

Every sentence about saying “no” to the supervisor is very shocked to me. No matter what the instructions are, isn't it the most valuable about saving a life? Truly, the instructions are very important in an organization. But what the rules humans made are not always perfect and without any flaw. And how those people who surely have educated would obey regulations but ignore the basic human rights? By the way, the man who answered the phone, his attitude was undesirable. Maybe you could doubt the phone's factualness, but if it's true? I've also learned, when something bad happens, being calm is the first thing to do. And try asking helps to lots of people in different way. Do not wait for others to help, find ways to get rid of troubles by you.

Summary of “Changing Roles”

Nail Walkingshaw sued the company he worked for of sex discrimination because he couldn't ask for the part-time hours to look after his baby, and he did it. This kind of situation proved the parental roles have changed.

Nowadays, a father's emotional involvement is getting more important, studies show that a father's presence effectively lowers juvenile crime rates and teenage pregnancy. It is possible one day a father's value will think higher in the society.

Summary of “Piggy Book”

The book's cover shows an unhappy mother carries her husband and 2 sons on her back. Everyday the mother did the meals and all the housework, after that, she still had to go to school. Mr. Piggott, Simon and Patrick didn't help but ordered her to do this and that. Finally, she left a note then went away.

Mr. Piggott and the sons did housework extremely awful. In the pictures, everything, including the wall papers, the tea-things and the people change into pigs. In a few days, mother came back. Something became different, children and the father started to help the housework, and the mother could also fixed the car.

My Favorite Song

“My happy ending” which is written by Avril Lavigne and Butch Walker, embodied in Avril Lavigne's second album “Under My Skin”, is one of my favorite songs.

The song talks about the false love between the couple:

He was everything that she wanted. They were meant to be, supposed to be, but they lost it. And all this time he was pretending so much just for her happy ending. Even then, she thanks him for acting like he cared and making her feel like she was the only one. At the last, she congratulated herself on knowing that they were done.

I like to sing. As my first time listened to the song, I'd like to follow the melody and sing with her. The guitar, the drum, the bass, and the piano, all of them are so harmony and so touched. I think this is the major factor why I like it so well.

About me

Hello, everyone. This is my first time to write Blog in English. Hope you will like it, and be unsparing in giving your advice or encouragement to me.

I am a freshman of the Japanese Department. (I have to learn English, too.)As you guys know, I am experiencing the softest period of time in university; therefore, I think some of my usual life practices have changed like a relaxed cat.

I grow up in Taichung. I like to eat tasty foods, especially the desserts. Maybe there are too many different kinds of restaurants in Taichung, so I just cannot lose weight easily.

My personality is optimistic. In my opinion, there is nothing impossible in the world. And it is the worst that you give up but never try it. Also, because of my indomitable spirit, when I meet difficulties, I will try hard to find some clues to solve them.

Quote to share from Michael Jordan:
Success isn't something you chase. It's something you have put forth the effort for constantly. Then, maybe it'll come when you least expect it.
